GCSE, IGCSE & A Level Spanish Support
Personalised Spanish tuition for students preparing for GCSE, IGCSE and A Level qualifications.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s current level, exam board, confidence and individual goals. Support can be provided for students following AQA, Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge IGCSE specifications, as well as A Level Spanish.
The aim is not only to prepare for exams, but also to help students understand the language more deeply, use Spanish with greater confidence and develop the skills they need to progress independently.
Areas of support
Lessons can focus on any combination of:
Speaking – developing confidence, pronunciation, fluency and stronger answers for speaking assessments.
Listening – improving understanding of spoken Spanish and developing strategies for exam-style tasks.
Reading – building comprehension, vocabulary and confidence with different types of texts.
Writing – improving accuracy, structure, range of language and the ability to develop ideas clearly.
Grammar and vocabulary – strengthening weaker areas and expanding the language needed for higher-level answers.
Exam technique – becoming familiar with question types, timing and how to approach each part of the assessment.
A Level support – more advanced language development, essay writing, discussion skills and support with the demands of post-GCSE study.
Support for different learner backgrounds
Every student comes to Spanish with a different experience of the language, so lessons are adapted accordingly.
I can support:
English-speaking students learning Spanish as a foreign language.
Bilingual and multilingual learners.
Heritage Spanish speakers who may already speak or understand Spanish at home but need support with formal writing, grammar or exam technique.
Students from Spanish-speaking families, including families from Spain and Latin America.
Students who have previously lived or studied in a Spanish-speaking country.
Students who are returning to Spanish after a break or who need to rebuild confidence before progressing further.
A flexible approach
Some students need structured exam preparation, while others first need help rebuilding foundations or becoming more confident using Spanish. Lessons can therefore be adapted over time rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme.
Sessions are available online and, depending on location and availability, in person in Cambridge.
